Morphosis Sustainability - ABN: 31 573 827 190
Morphosis is a sustainability strategy and capacity development practice assisting organisations to optimise the performance of their sustainability programs, for now and for the future.
We believe that sustainability in the corporate sphere is only in its infancy and we will see an accelerating move from tactical approaches to it, to strategic and transformational ones. Our mission is to enable companies to make that shift as efficiently as possible and amplify the value they create for society, for the environment and for their businesses.
Morphosis was established in 2008 by Simon Carter. It services all sectors but, through Simon’s particular background, has a lot of specialist experience and expertise in the property sector.
“Morphosis” means the process of transformation in an organism.
Simon Carter, founding director
Simon Carter is corporate sustainability professional with over a dozen years of experience and is a recognised sustainability pioneer in the Australian architectural and property sectors.
Prior to founding Morphosis, Simon was the Regional Head of Sustainability - Asia Pacific for the global property service provider, Colliers International. At Colliers he developed and implemented sustainability programs at the national and regional levels and co-created the firm’s global program.
Simon originally trained and practiced as an architect and in the early 2000s was National Sustainable Design Manager for leading architectural firm BVN, a first of its kind role.
Since 2007, Simon has been an Al Gore Climate Project Ambassador and for seven years headed Catalyst, a not-for-profit supporting social leadership in the professional sector. He sits on several sustainability-focused boards or committees for public sector and not-for-profit organisations and is involved in a number of community-based initiatives.
He is also an active supporter of The Hunger Project, inspired by its extraordinary ability to mobilise people in developing nations across the globe to sustainably lift themselves out of poverty.
Simon is a sought after public speaker and has delivered keynote presentations at major conferences across Asia-Pacific. He has authored various publications including Lifeblood - Sustaining the Vitality of Australian Business, the Critical Role of Buildings and Workplaces’ (2006) and r.e.Design - the Green Real Estate Guide (2008).
